The GUHRING 9085210120000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to Series 8521 specifications, it carries a 140-degree split point with an HF point geometry and a nano-SI coating for extended tool life. The 12 mm diameter bit features a straight-cylindrical shank, right-hand spiral flutes, and coolant-through capability, making it a precision instrument for production machining environments. The web-thinned tip promotes self-centering entry, reducing the need for a pilot hole and improving hole position accuracy on hard-to-drill substrates. It is typically installed and operated by machinists and CNC tooling specialists working with aerospace and structural alloys.
This drill bit is rated for titanium alloy as its primary workpiece material, with a workpiece material classification of P and S grades. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 53 mm maximum drilling depth make it well suited for through-holes and moderate-depth blind holes in production or job-shop settings. The 118 mm overall length with a 71 mm flute length and 45 mm shank length provides rigid tool engagement in standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders. It conforms to DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L standards, confirming dimensional interchangeability with other DIN-compliant toolholders.
Designed for use in DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L compliant toolholders with a 12 mm bore. Rated for primary workpiece materials classified as titanium alloy under P and S material groups per DIN designation standards.
This bit should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully stopped and de-energized before loading the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle and should never be used in a worn or improperly balanced holder, as lateral shock loads can cause chipping or fracture. When running coolant-through operation, verify that the machine's internal coolant system pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the tool diameter before engaging the spindle.
