The GUHRING 9085110035700 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit in the Series 8511 lineup, engineered for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. It carries a No. 28 wire gauge designation, equivalent to 9/64 inch (0.1406 inch decimal), with a 140-degree facet point that enables self-centering entry without a center punch on most workpieces. The drill is coated in GUHRING's proprietary nano-A multi-layer coating, which extends tool life when cutting abrasive or work-hardening materials. Overall length is 2.598 inches (66.00 mm), flute length is 1.102 inches (28.00 mm), and shank diameter is 6 mm. A web-thinned geometry reduces thrust force at entry. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed production runs.
This drill bit is rated for primary use in stainless steel and high-temperature alloys - material groups M and S under ISO classification. Those are the material families most likely to work-harden or cause premature tool wear with standard HSS tooling. A 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry provide adequate chip evacuation in these materials at appropriate feed and speed parameters. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders that accept 6 mm shanks. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 0.892 inch (22.65 mm). This bit is suited for job shop, aerospace, and precision manufacturing environments where consistent hole tolerance and finish matter.
Designed for use in stainless steel (ISO material group M) and high-temperature alloys (ISO material group S). Fits any drill chuck or collet holder accepting a 6 mm straight cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L specifications.
This tooling is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC machine operators. Secure the shank fully in a collet or drill chuck rated for the intended spindle speed before operation. When drilling stainless steel or high-temp alloys, use appropriate cutting fluid or internal coolant supply to prevent work hardening and premature edge wear. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.892 inch (22.65 mm) without retracting to clear chips.
