The GUHRING 9085100034000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 6537 K standards and manufactured from K40-grade carbide, this bit features a 140-degree facet point and GUHRING nano-A multi-layer coating for extended tool life and reduced built-up edge. The 3.40 mm diameter bit carries a m7 diameter tolerance, making it suitable for precision bore applications. With a web-thinned geometry and coolant-through capability, it is engineered for productivity in production machining environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this tooling.
This drill bit is sized at 3.40 mm (0.1339 inches decimal equivalent) and is part of GUHRING Series 8510. It is intended for drilling stainless steel and high-temperature alloys, where tool rigidity and coating performance are critical. The screw machine length body keeps the flute-to-diameter ratio at 3xD, providing added stiffness compared to jobber-length equivalents. Typical applications include production runs on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines where consistent hole quality in hard or work-hardening materials is required.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automatic screw machines accepting a 6.00 mm straight cylindrical shank. Optimized for drilling stainless steel and high-temperature alloys as the primary workpiece materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle and collet or chuck are clean and within spec before seating the straight shank to prevent runout. Confirm coolant-through lines are active before engaging the spindle when using internal coolant delivery. Do not exceed the maximum recommended drilling depth of 14.90 mm (0.587 inches) per the tool geometry.
