The GUHRING 9069850079420 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill engineered for precision milling in ferrous and hard-to-machine materials. It carries a 5/16-inch mill diameter, five helical flutes, and a 0.02-inch corner radius that blends the floor and wall of a cut to reduce stress concentrations and extend tool life. The nano-A coating provides a hard, low-friction surface that resists heat and built-up edge when cutting steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. With a 7/16-inch length of cut and a 2-inch overall length, this is a short, rigid tool well suited to stable setups where runout control is critical. Licensed machinists and CNC tooling specialists are the primary users.
This end mill is designed for both roughing and finishing passes in a single setup, reducing tool changes in production environments. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium. Secondary applications cover non-ferrous metals and hard materials. The right-hand cut and right-hand helix suit conventional CNC machining center spindles. The straight-cylindrical shank mounts directly in standard end mill holders. Series 6985 tools are categorized as short-length geometry, favoring rigidity over reach in tight-tolerance work.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Compatible with CNC machining centers running right-hand spindle rotation. Suited for workpieces in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys and titanium as primary materials, and non-ferrous metals and hard materials as secondary applications per Series 6985 specifications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a clean, undamaged end mill holder and torque to the holder manufacturer specification before running. Verify runout at the cutting tip before beginning a cut, as carbide end mills at this diameter are sensitive to holder concentricity. Do not use this tool in a drill chuck or set-screw collet not rated for milling side loads.
