The GUHRING 9064120015000 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series 6412 specifications, it features a 0.0591-inch diameter, a 135-degree faceted point angle, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-temperature cutting conditions. The through-coolant design channels fluid directly to the cutting zone, reducing heat buildup and improving chip evacuation. The shank is straight-cylindrical with a diameter tolerance of h7, making it suitable for precision collet chucks. Licensed machinists and CNC operators in tool rooms and production environments are the primary installers of this type of tooling.
This micro drill bit is engineered for use on cast iron, stainless steel, and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for aluminum and titanium alloys. The web-thinned geometry reduces thrust force at entry, which is critical when drilling small-diameter holes in tough or work-hardening materials. With an overall length of 62 mm and a flute-by-diameter ratio of 15xD, it is well suited for deep micro-hole applications in precision machined components, molds, dies, and aerospace or medical parts production.
Designed for use with through-coolant capable spindles and precision collet chuck systems accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Compatible with primary workpiece materials including cast iron, stainless steel, and steel, and secondary materials including aluminum and titanium alloys.
Installation and use of this tooling should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC programmers familiar with micro-drilling parameters. Before changing tooling, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Seat the shank fully and evenly in the collet to the specified grip length to avoid runout. Do not use through-coolant tool holders that are not rated for the required pressure, as improper coolant delivery will accelerate tool wear and risk breakage at this diameter.
