The GUHRING 9064050027500 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to Series 6405 standards, it features a 2.75 mm diameter, a 140-degree faceted point, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life by reducing heat buildup and wear at the cutting edge. The through-coolant design channels cutting fluid directly to the tip, improving chip evacuation and thermal control during deep-hole operations. With an overall length of 66 mm and a flute length of 22 mm, it is suited for controlled, high-accuracy drilling in close-tolerance workpieces. Machinists and toolroom technicians working with CNC machining centers and drill presses install and operate this bit.
This micro drill bit is engineered for use in ferrous and non-ferrous materials including cast iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel as primary workpiece materials, with aluminum and titanium alloy listed as secondary workpiece materials. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 18.60 mm, making it appropriate for through-holes and blind holes in precision components across aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking production environments. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 4.00 mm shank diameter seats directly in standard collet chucks and tool holders without modification.
Compatible with primary workpiece materials cast iron, stainless steel, and steel (material codes K, M, P) and secondary workpiece materials aluminum and titanium alloy (material codes N, S). Fits standard collet chucks and tool holders accepting a 4.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with CNC or manual drilling equipment. Verify that the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and free of runout before seating the shank, as micro-diameter carbide tooling is sensitive to concentricity error. Connect through-coolant supply before beginning drilling operations to prevent thermal damage to the cutting edge. Avoid hand-tightening collet nuts without a torque wrench calibrated to the tool holder manufacturer specification.
