The GUHRING 9064000021000 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built from submicron-grade carbide and coated with TiAlN for heat and wear resistance, it measures 0.0827 inches in diameter with a 140-degree faceted point that reduces thrust and improves centering on entry. The overall length is 59 millimeters with a 4-millimeter straight-cylindrical shank. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration lowers cutting forces at the chisel edge. Spiral fluting evacuates chips efficiently at small diameters. This bit belongs to the Guhring Series 6400 and is intended for installation by machinists, tool and die makers, and CNC operators working with close-tolerance hole requirements.
The 9064000021000 is engineered for drilling cast iron, stainless steel, and steel as primary workpiece materials, and is also rated for aluminum and titanium alloy as secondary materials. Its 4xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 10-millimeter maximum drilling depth make it well suited for shallow, tight-tolerance holes in production and job-shop environments. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional CNC and manual spindle setups. The 12.60-millimeter flute length provides adequate chip clearance for its rated depth. Diameter tolerance is held to plus 0.002 to plus 0.012 millimeters, consistent with reamed-fit or close-clearance hole requirements.
Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron, stainless steel, and steel (ISO material codes K, M, P) and secondary materials aluminum and titanium alloy (ISO codes N, S). Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting a 4-millimeter straight-cylindrical shank with collet or drill chuck toolholding.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators. Secure the shank fully in a collet or precision drill chuck rated for the spindle speed required by the workpiece material and diameter. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or inspecting the bit. Avoid side loading or using this bit as a reamer, as carbide micro drills are brittle and will fracture under lateral force.
