The GUHRING 9064000015900 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series 6400 specifications, it features a 1/16 inch (1.59 mm) diameter with a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in high-heat, high-speed operations. The 140-degree faceted point angle provides accurate entry and reduces walking on hard surfaces. With a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 3.00 mm in diameter and an overall length of 47.00 mm, this bit mounts cleanly in standard collet-style holders used by machinists and toolroom professionals across production and maintenance environments.
This micro drill bit is engineered for use in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for aluminum and titanium alloys. Its web-thinned geometry and spiral flute design support chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes, with a maximum drilling depth of 7.70 mm. Typical applications include precision hole drilling in tight-tolerance components, fixture work, and production machining where a small-diameter carbide tool is required over a conventional HSS bit.
Designed as a Series 6400 micro drill bit suitable for use in standard collet-style and drill-chuck toolholding systems accepting a 3.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel; secondary materials include aluminum and titanium alloy.
Installation and use of this tool should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Before mounting, ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris to prevent runout that can fracture carbide at this diameter. Set spindle speed and feed rate according to the workpiece material and machine capability — carbide micro drills are brittle and will break if deflected or side-loaded. Never use this bit in a hand drill or handheld rotary tool.
