The GUHRING 9057240200070 is a spiral flute tap designed for threading blind holes in a wide range of metals. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with an oxide finish, it cuts an M20x1.5 metric fine internal thread to a 6H class of fit. The modified bottoming chamfer allows the tap to thread close to the bottom of a blind hole. With a 40-degree helix angle and fast flute style, the design efficiently evacuates chips upward out of the hole during the tapping cycle. This tap is suited for production machining environments and tool rooms where repeatable thread quality in tough materials is required.
The 9057240200070 is intended for blind hole threading operations in a broad range of workpiece materials including alloy steel, alloy tool steel, aluminum alloy, case-hardened steel, cast iron, ductile iron, free-cutting steel, heat-treated steel, malleable cast iron, stainless steel, structural steel, and tool steel. The 16.00 mm thread length and 18.50 mm tapping depth accommodate typical blind hole configurations encountered in general machining, mold and die work, and precision component manufacturing. Installation is performed by machinists and tool room technicians using CNC machining centers, tapping machines, or manual tapping equipment.
Designed for blind hole threading in alloy steel, alloy tool steel, aluminum alloy, case-hardened steel, cast iron, ductile iron, free-cutting steel, heat-treated steel, malleable cast iron, stainless steel, structural steel, and tool steel. Part of GUHRING Series 5724.
This tap is installed by qualified machinists or tool room technicians using CNC machining centers, dedicated tapping machines, or manual tapping equipment rated for the M20 tap size. Ensure the workpiece is rigidly fixtured and the pilot hole is drilled to the correct minor diameter before tapping. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material to extend tap life and maintain thread quality. Do not reverse the tap while chips are packed in the flutes, as this can cause breakage.
