The GUHRING 9057210060000 is a spiral flute tap designed for blind hole threading in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel with an oxide finish, this tap handles demanding applications where standard HSS taps fall short. It is configured as a bottoming chamfer, allowing threads to be cut close to the bottom of blind holes. With a 40-degree helix angle and a fast flute style, chips are efficiently evacuated upward out of the hole during the tapping cycle. The D5 thread limit and 6H class of fit make it suitable for standard metric thread tolerances. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary users of this tap in production and job-shop environments.
This tap cuts M6 x 1.00 metric right-hand threads and is rated for blind hole applications. The material application list is broad: alloy steel, alloy tool steel, aluminum alloy, case hardened steel, cast iron, ductile iron, free cutting steel, heat treated steel, malleable cast iron, stainless steel, structural steel, and tool steel. The 3-flute spiral design provides good chip clearance without sacrificing rigidity at this tap size. It belongs to GUHRING Series 5721, a line optimized for spiral flute performance in CNC and manual tapping operations.
Designed for blind hole threading applications in alloy steel, alloy tool steel, aluminum alloy, case hardened steel, cast iron, ductile iron, free cutting steel, heat treated steel, malleable cast iron, stainless steel, structural steel, and tool steel. Part of GUHRING Series 5721.
This tap is installed by machinists using a standard tap holder or tapping chuck on CNC machining centers or manual drill presses. Power down and secure the workpiece before changing tooling. Use a compatible cutting fluid or tapping compound appropriate for the workpiece material to extend tool life and improve thread quality. Do not reverse-tap to break chips with this spiral flute design; the helical flutes are intended to eject chips continuously during forward rotation.
