The GUHRING 9057200060000 is a spiral point tap designed for metric coarse threading in a wide range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It produces M6x1.00 right-hand internal threads with a modified bottoming chamfer, making it well suited for blind hole applications where thread depth close to the bottom of the bore is required. Manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with an oxide coating, it delivers improved wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to standard HSS taps. With 3 flutes and a D7 thread limit, it holds a 6G class of fit for general-purpose metric threading. Licensed trade machinists and toolroom technicians are the primary users of this tap.
This tap is intended for blind hole threading operations on a broad spectrum of materials including aluminum, aluminum alloy, cast iron, free-cutting steel, heat-treatable steel, case-hardened steel, structural steel, stainless steel, sulfured steel, and tool steel. It is commonly used in production machining, maintenance and repair operations, and job shop environments where precise metric threads are required in components with limited hole depth. The 80 mm overall length and 6 mm shank diameter suit standard tap holders and CNC tapping chucks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use spiral point tap for machine tapping operations requiring M6x1.00 metric coarse threads in blind hole configurations across a wide range of metallic workpiece materials.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with tapping operations and proper speeds and feeds for the workpiece material. The tap must be securely seated in a compatible tap holder or floating tap chuck sized for a 6 mm shank before use. Always ensure the workpiece is properly fixtured and the spindle is stopped before changing or inspecting the tap. Use appropriate cutting fluid or tapping compound for the material being threaded to extend tool life and maintain thread quality.
