The GUHRING 9055250127000 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built on the Series 5525 platform, it features a 0.5 inch (1/2 inch) cutting diameter, a 140-degree drill point angle, and a FIREX coating for extended tool life under high-heat conditions. The spiral flute geometry is paired with web thinning and a tapered web configuration to reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability allows internal delivery of cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, making it well-suited for deep-hole applications where heat and chip control are critical. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users of this tooling.
This drill bit is designed for deep-hole drilling in cast iron and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in aluminum and titanium alloys. The extra length format, with a flute-to-diameter ratio of 12xD and a maximum drilling depth of approximately 6.415 inches (162.95 mm), makes it appropriate for applications where standard-length drills cannot reach. It is typically deployed in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-axis machining fixtures where rigidity and runout control are maintained. Facet point grinding and self-centering point geometry reduce walking and improve positional accuracy at entry.
Rated for primary use in cast iron and steel workpiece materials (ISO material codes K and P) and secondary use in aluminum, titanium alloy, and other materials (ISO codes H, M, N, and S). Conforms to DIN 6537 tooling standards.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the machine powered down and locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped in a compatible collet or chuck rated for the 0.5512 inch shank diameter. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and system pressure is appropriate for the application before initiating the cut. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 6.415 inches in a single pass without confirmed chip evacuation.
