The GUHRING 9055250051600 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built on the Series 5525 platform, it features a 140-degree drill point angle, a FIREX coating for extended tool life, and coolant-through capability to manage heat in deep-hole applications. The 0.2031-inch diameter bit carries a right-hand spiral flute with a regular spiral type and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for improved chip evacuation. This bit is sized for precision work and is typically installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals operating CNC or manual drilling equipment.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in cast iron and steel as its primary workpiece materials. Secondary applications include aluminum and titanium alloy. The 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 67.00 mm maximum drilling depth make it appropriate for through-hole and deep-hole operations where standard-length bits cannot reach. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The facet point grinding and self-centering point type reduce walking at hole entry, which is especially useful in automated setups where fixturing cannot compensate for bit wander.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct specification fit for applications requiring a 0.2031-inch diameter solid carbide extra length drill in straight-cylindrical shank tooling. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel; secondary materials include aluminum and titanium alloy. Conforms to DIN 6537.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine powered down and the spindle fully stopped. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a properly sized collet or drill chuck to the holder manufacturer's specified clamping torque range — do not use undersized holders. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and that the machine's coolant system pressure is compatible with the bit before initiating a drilling cycle. Handle carbide tooling carefully to avoid edge chipping, and inspect the cutting edges before each use.
