The GUHRING 9055250050000 is a solid carbide extra length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built on the Series 5525 platform, it features a FIREX coating and a 140-degree drill point angle with a standard point type and web-thinned, tapered web configuration for improved self-centering and reduced thrust force. The 5.00 mm (0.1969 inch) diameter bit has an overall length of 116.00 mm and a flute length of 78.00 mm, providing a 12xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat management during deep-hole operations. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard toolholders.
This drill bit is suited for machining cast iron and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in aluminum and titanium alloys. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual production equipment where extended reach and precision entry are required. The facet point grinding and self-centering geometry reduce walking on entry, making it well-suited for close-tolerance hole patterns in ferrous and non-ferrous components. Machinists and toolroom technicians working to DIN 6537 standards will find the Series 5525 geometry familiar and consistent.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or upgrade for Series 5525 extra length drill bits used in standard straight-cylindrical toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron (material code K) and steel (material code P), with secondary suitability for aluminum, and titanium alloys (material codes H, M, N, S).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide tooling handling procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter of 0.2362 inches and confirm runout before beginning production. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Avoid side-loading or prying carbide tools, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to chipping under lateral stress.
