The GUHRING 9055240026000 is a cobalt stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for precision drilling in metalworking and fabrication applications. Built to DIN 1897 standards from M35 cobalt high-speed steel, this bit measures 2.60 mm in diameter with a 43 mm overall length and features a 118-degree four facet split point for fast penetration and accurate hole starting without a center punch. The bright uncoated finish is appropriate for general-purpose use. With a maximum drilling depth of 10.10 mm and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration, it delivers clean entry and reduced thrust in short-hole drilling operations. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators are the primary installers.
This drill bit is suited for stub-length drilling operations where rigidity and minimal deflection are required. The shorter flute length of 14 mm and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard drill chucks, CNC machining centers, and drill presses. Per the supplier specs, the primary workpiece material designation is aluminum, though M35 cobalt construction also supports drilling in stainless steel, cast iron, and other ferrous and non-ferrous metals at appropriate feeds and speeds. It is sold individually (package quantity of 1).
Designed as a DIN 1897 Series 5524 stub-length drill bit with a 2.60 mm straight-cylindrical shank; fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 2.60 mm shank diameter.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with drill press, CNC, or hand-drill setups. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet to the manufacturer-recommended grip depth to prevent pullout. Always use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material to preserve tool life and surface finish quality.
