The GUHRING 9055200055600 is a cobalt stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-productivity hole-making in demanding materials. Ground to a 118-degree four-facet split point, the bit starts on contact without walking and reduces thrust compared to a conventional conical grind. Web thinning at the tip further lowers cutting resistance. At 0.2188 inches (7/32 inch) in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard drill chucks and quick-change holders without adapters. The two-flute regular spiral geometry moves chips efficiently along the 28 mm flute length. This is a right-hand-cut tool built to Series 5520 and DIN 1897 standards.
The 9055200055600 is suited for production and maintenance drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous and light-alloy workpieces, though cobalt construction also handles harder materials that would wear out standard high-speed steel bits. Its stub length — overall length 66 mm — provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length drills, making it a practical choice in tight clearances, drill press work, and screw machine or CNC applications where runout and deflection must be minimized. Package quantity is one piece.
Designed as an OEM-style stub-length drill bit conforming to DIN 1897, compatible with standard drill chucks and quick-change holders that accept a 5.56 mm (approximately 0.219 inch) straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary use in aluminum workpieces; cobalt construction is suitable for a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists, tooling technicians, or maintenance professionals familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify concentricity before running at speed to minimize runout and premature edge wear. Always wear appropriate eye protection and follow your machine's speed-and-feed charts for the workpiece material — do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.774 inches (19.66 mm) in a single pass without retracting to clear chips. Disconnect or lock out power to the machine before changing tooling.
