Built to DIN 1897 standards, it features a 118-degree four-facet split point with web thinning for reduced thrust and improved self-centering on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 4.50 mm (0.1772 inches) in diameter and the overall length is 58.00 mm (2.2835 inches). The cobalt construction provides heat resistance that outlasts standard high-speed steel in demanding production drilling applications. This bit is installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians.
This drill bit is suited for screw machine operations, CNC drilling, and bench drill press work where a short flute length provides greater rigidity and reduced deflection compared to jobber-length bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant when drilling ferrous materials to extend tool life, noting that this bit does not support through-coolant.
