The GUHRING 9055200024000 is a cobalt stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-speed, high-accuracy drilling in demanding shop environments. Built to DIN 1897 standards, it features a 0.0945-inch (2.40 mm) diameter, a 118-degree four-facet split-point, and a web-thinned, tapered-web design that reduces thrust and improves centering without a center punch. The two-flute regular spiral configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation. Overall length is 43.00 mm with a 14.00 mm flute length, and maximum drilling depth reaches 0.409 inches (10.40 mm). The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders.
This bit is suited for production drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials where stub-length rigidity reduces deflection in short-reach applications. The cobalt construction maintains cutting-edge hardness under elevated heat, making it appropriate for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held pneumatic or electric tools where consistent hole quality across high cycle counts is required. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production floor operators are the typical end users. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports controlled depth drilling in close-tolerance setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production-use drill bit conforming to DIN 1897 stub-length specifications, suitable for use in any standard drill chuck or collet holder accepting a 2.40 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is aluminum; suitable for other non-ferrous and soft materials consistent with cobalt-grade tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable shop safety procedures. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning a production run. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply external cutting fluid or mist coolant as required by the workpiece material and feed-speed parameters. Inspect the cutting edges and web-thinned point for wear or chipping before each use, as cobalt bits used past serviceability can produce out-of-tolerance holes.
