The GUHRING 9055190045000 is a cobalt (M35 grade) jobber-length drill bit designed for reliable performance in demanding drilling applications. It measures 0.1772 inches (4.50 mm) in diameter with an overall length of 80 mm and a flute length of 47 mm. The bit carries a titanium nitride (TiN) coating to extend surface hardness and wear resistance. A four-facet split point at 118 degrees reduces thrust and self-centers on entry without a pilot hole. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. This bit is sized to wire gauge No. 16 and conforms to DIN 338 standards. Licensed HVAC technicians, machinists, and maintenance trades rely on this geometry for clean, accurate holes in a range of materials.
The 9055190045000 is suited for drilling aluminum, mild steel, stainless, and non-ferrous metals, consistent with material codes K, M, N, and P. The regular spiral flute with web-thinned, tapered web geometry evacuates chips efficiently in both through-hole and blind-hole operations. Maximum drilling depth is 40.25 mm (1.585 inches), making it appropriate for light structural components, brackets, panels, and sheet stock encountered in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical rough-in work. It is sold individually (quantity of one per package).
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber-length replacement drill bit suitable for use in standard drill presses, hand drills, and CNC drilling operations requiring a No. 16 wire gauge (0.1772 inch) straight-shank bit.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Machinists and maintenance technicians should use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling ferrous materials to protect the TiN coating and maintain dimensional accuracy. Inspect the cutting edges and point before each use; a chipped or worn split point will increase thrust and reduce hole quality. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine-guarding requirements during all drilling operations.
