The GUHRING 9055150089000 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 6537L specification, it features a 140-degree split point (SU type) with web thinning for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The FIREX coating adds thermal resistance and wear protection, extending tool life in ferrous and hardened materials. The submicron carbide grade provides rigidity and edge retention that standard HSS tooling cannot match. A straight-cylindrical shank measuring 10 mm in diameter ensures secure chuck retention on most standard setups. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and CNC operators working in production or precision environments.
This drill bit is used in applications requiring tight-tolerance hole making in materials such as steel alloys, cast iron, and stainless steel. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 57 mm maximum drilling depth make it suitable for moderately deep holes in production machining, fixture building, and general metalworking. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation during through-hole and blind-hole operations. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended for heat management in harder materials.
Designed as a jobber length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank, suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes configured for metalworking.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine powered down and locked out. Secure the shank fully within the chuck or collet to the recommended grip depth before operation. External cutting fluid or coolant is recommended during use, as this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as carbide tooling can fracture if operated with a damaged edge.
