The GUHRING 9055150032000 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. Built from submicron solid carbide and finished with a FIREX coating, this bit delivers extended tool life in demanding production and maintenance applications. The 140-degree split point (SU geometry) with web thinning allows self-centering entry without a center punch, reducing setup time. At 66 mm overall length with a 28 mm flute length, it fits standard drill chucks and machining centers. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix provide efficient chip evacuation in both manual and CNC drilling operations.
This drill bit is suited for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces in both shop and field environments. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 25 mm maximum drilling depth make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole work in medium-thickness material. The straight-cylindrical shank at 6 mm diameter seats securely in collet chucks, keyless chucks, and drill press spindles. Licensed machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users. It conforms to DIN 6537 L and DIN 6535 standards, making it a drop-in fit where DIN-specification tooling is required.
Designed as a DIN 6537 L compliant jobber length drill bit for use in cast iron and steel workpieces. Primary workpiece material codes K and P confirm suitability for cast iron and steel respectively.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine powered down and locked out per standard lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the shank fully into the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning a drilling cycle. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in applications with interrupted cuts or heavy vibration without confirming setup rigidity. Coolant-through capability is not supported on this model, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied at the point of contact when drilling ferrous materials.
