The GUHRING 9055120127000 is a taper length solid carbide drill bit designed for demanding material removal in hard-to-machine workpiece materials. Built to DIN 6537 standards, this Series 5512 drill features a 140-degree split point (SU type) with web thinning for self-centering entry without a center punch. The 0.5000-inch diameter bit runs a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio, delivering a maximum drilling depth of 4.486 inches. Coolant-through construction supports high-speed, deep-hole drilling operations where heat management is critical. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary users of this tooling.
This drill bit is suited for through-coolant CNC drilling operations in materials that challenge standard high-speed steel tooling. Listed material applications include brass, cast iron, hardened materials, nickel alloy, stainless steel, carbon steel, and titanium alloy. The straight shank with a 0.5512-inch shank diameter fits standard drill chucks and hydraulic toolholders. The tapered web configuration and right-hand spiral flute geometry promote efficient chip evacuation during high-feed, deep-hole passes on machining centers and drill presses.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses equipped with standard straight-shank toolholders accepting a 0.5512-inch shank diameter. Suitable for through-coolant spindle setups across a wide range of industrial drilling applications.
This tooling should be installed and changed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel following machine-specific lockout and tagout procedures before any tool change. Confirm the toolholder bore matches the 0.5512-inch shank diameter and that the coolant-through circuit is properly connected and purged before initiating a cut. Runout should be checked with a dial indicator after seating to avoid premature edge wear. Follow the machine manufacturer and cutting tool manufacturer feeds-and-speeds recommendations for the specific workpiece material.
