The GUHRING 9055120107200 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit designed for demanding hole-making in difficult-to-machine materials. Built to DIN 6537 standards, this bit features a 140-degree split point (SU point type) with web thinning for self-centering entry and reduced thrust. The 0.4219-inch (27/64) cutting diameter is paired with a coated finish that extends tool life in high-heat applications. At an overall length of 155 millimeters with a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it is suited for moderate-depth holes where rigidity and chip evacuation both matter. Licensed HVAC technicians, machinists, and maintenance professionals working in metal fabrication and industrial service rely on this grade of tooling for consistent, repeatable results in production environments.
This drill bit is engineered for use in brass, cast iron, hardened materials, nickel alloy, stainless steel, carbon steel, and titanium alloy. The coolant-through design channels cutting fluid directly to the tip, making it well-suited for CNC machining centers and powered column drills where coolant delivery is available. The straight shank fits standard collets and drill chucks without modification. With a maximum drilling depth of 3.54 inches (89.92 millimeters), it handles through-holes and blind holes in medium-thickness workpieces across Series 5512 tooling setups.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, knee mills, and drill presses equipped with coolant-through capability. Compatible with standard straight-shank collets and drill chucks accepting a 0.4724-inch shank. Part of the GUHRING Series 5512 taper length drill program.
Installation and use of this tooling should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance professionals familiar with cutting tool setup and machine operation. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing tooling. Verify collet or chuck runout is within acceptable limits before drilling to avoid premature edge wear or bit breakage. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the material and feed rate being used.
