The GUHRING 9055120070000 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit engineered for demanding material removal in precision machining environments. Built to DIN 6537 standards, it features a 140-degree split point (SU point type) with web thinning for self-centering entry without a center drill. The 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio provides extended reach in a taper length format. At 0.2756 inches (7.00 mm) diameter with a 0.3150-inch straight shank, this drill is sized for machine tool chucks and collet holders used in CNC and manual machining operations. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and tool life in deep-hole applications.
This drill is suited for production and job-shop machining of difficult materials including stainless steel, hardened materials, nickel alloys, titanium alloy, cast iron, brass, and steel. Its spiral flute geometry and submicron carbide substrate make it appropriate for applications where standard HSS drills fail to hold tolerance or wear prematurely. Machinists and CNC operators working in aerospace, medical, and general metalworking will find this drill appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole work in fixured setups.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or production tooling option for Series 5512 applications; compatible with standard straight-shank chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.3150-inch shank diameter.
Installation and operation of this drill should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight shank in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the intended spindle speed before use. Carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rates, and workpiece movement — ensure the workpiece is rigidly fixtured. Always verify spindle speed and feed rate against manufacturer tooling data for the specific workpiece material before beginning the operation.
