The GUHRING 9055110155000 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in ferrous materials. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split point (SU type) with web thinning for self-centering entry without a center punch. The FIREX coating extends tool life in demanding applications involving cast iron and steel. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral fluting, this bit maintains chip evacuation through a 3.2677-inch flute length. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed, production-environment drilling where heat management is critical. Submicron carbide grade provides the hardness and edge retention required for interrupted cuts and abrasive workpieces.
This drill bit is suited for production machining, tool and die, and maintenance shops working with cast iron and steel stock. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collets. The DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L standards make it directly interchangeable in setups already specified to DIN tooling. It fits the Series 5511 lineup and is appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools requiring a reliable carbide jobber-length solution in the 0.5000 to 0.6500 inch diameter range.
Designed for use with cast iron and steel workpieces. Fits standard straight-cylindrical shank tool holders and collets. Part of the GUHRING Series 5511 and dimensionally compliant with DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L specifications. Suitable for any setup requiring a jobber length carbide drill in the 0.5000 to 0.6500 inch diameter range.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool and die technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and properly secured before inserting the shank. Carbide tooling is brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid lateral loading, side pressure, or interrupted engagement without appropriate feed and speed parameters. Always engage coolant-through supply before initiating the cut when using internal coolant to prevent thermal shock to the cutting edge.
