Product Description

The GUHRING 9055110147000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and cast materials. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry without a center punch. The FIREX coating provides thermal and wear resistance during extended production runs. At 5.2362 inches overall length with a 3.2677-inch flute, this bit handles depths up to 2.4 inches in a single pass. Manufactured from submicron-grade carbide, it is suited for CNC machining centers and production drilling where tool life and hole quality are critical.

This drill bit is rated for primary use in cast iron and steel (ISO material codes K and P). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design make it a practical choice for shops running through-spindle coolant on CNC lathes, machining centers, or dedicated drill presses. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard ER collets, hydraulic chucks, or drill chucks without adapters. Machinists, tool and die makers, and production CNC operators are the typical end users for this series.

Key Features

  • Solid submicron carbide construction for long tool life in hard and abrasive workpiece materials
  • FIREX coating reduces thermal load and extends edge life in steel and cast iron applications
  • 140-degree SU point with web thinning enables self-centering entry and reduces thrust force
  • Coolant-through design supports through-spindle coolant delivery for chip evacuation in deep holes
  • Straight-cylindrical shank compatible with standard ER collets and hydraulic chucks
  • Conforms to DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L dimensional standards for drop-in tooling replacement

Compatibility

Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitute for any DIN 6537L-spec jobber drill bit in the 0.5000 to 0.6500 inch diameter range. Diameter tolerance is held to 0.007 to 0.025 mm for consistent fit in close-tolerance toolholders.

Installation Notes

Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and within runout spec before seating the shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to radial loading from an unbalanced or worn chuck. Set through-spindle coolant pressure and feed rates according to the machining center manufacturer guidelines and workpiece material requirements. Inspect the cutting edges before each use — carbide drill bits should not be used if chipping or micro-fractures are visible at the tip.
