The GUHRING 9055110127000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Sized at 0.5000 inch (1/2 inch) in diameter with a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip, it delivers self-centering entry without a center punch. The FIREX coating provides heat and wear resistance for extended tool life in production environments. Overall length is 4.88 inches (124 mm), with a flute length of 3.03 inches (77 mm) and a maximum drilling depth of 2.28 inches (57.95 mm). This bit is built to DIN 6537 L standards and is suited for machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance technicians running CNC or manual drilling operations.
This drill bit is designed for use in cast iron and steel workpiece materials, corresponding to material codes K and P. Its coolant-through design supports internal coolant delivery, making it a strong fit for CNC machining centers where through-spindle coolant is available. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral geometry promote efficient chip evacuation in deeper-hole drilling cycles. It is appropriate for both production machining and precision maintenance work where tool consistency and hole quality are required.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces (material codes K and P) in accordance with DIN 6537 L. Fits tool holders and chucks accepting a 0.5512-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Part of the GUHRING Series 5511 within the 0.5000 to 0.6500 inch drill bit size range per DIN specification designation.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing or inspecting the bit. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the chuck or collet to the holder's rated clamping torque specification. When using coolant-through capability, confirm that the spindle coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine tool manufacturer's recommended range before starting the cut.
