The GUHRING 9055110095200 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry without a center punch. The FIREX coating reduces heat buildup and improves tool life when drilling through abrasive and high-strength materials. At 3/8 inches in diameter with a 4.0551-inch overall length and a 2-flute spiral configuration, this bit is sized for production and maintenance drilling where precision and repeatability matter. Licensed tradespeople and tool-room machinists are the primary users.
This drill bit is designed for primary use in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering material grades classified under ISO P and K categories. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral type make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in both CNC machining centers and manual drill presses. Coolant-through capability supports higher feed rates and extended tool life in production environments where cutting fluid delivery is available. The DIN 6535 straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces (ISO material codes K and P). Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.3937-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses equipped with coolant-through spindle capability.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and workpiece are fully secured before starting the cut, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral shock loads. When using coolant-through capability, confirm coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine spindle specifications before running. Do not use this bit for interrupted cuts or in applications that generate significant lateral side load, as these conditions can cause carbide fracture.
