The GUHRING 9055110094000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry, reducing the need for a center punch on prepared surfaces. The FIREX coating adds thermal and abrasion resistance, extending tool life in demanding production environments. The two-flute spiral design with a tapered web configuration promotes efficient chip evacuation. Overall length is 4.06 inches with a flute length of 2.40 inches and a maximum drilling depth of 1.85 inches. Licensed machinists and CNC operators working in metal fabrication and machine shops are the primary users.
This drill bit is intended for machining cast iron and steel workpieces in industrial and production settings. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and submicron carbide grade make it well-suited for through-hole and blind-hole applications where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are critical. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed, high-feed operations on machining centers and CNC drill presses where internal coolant delivery is available. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and hydraulic toolholders without modification.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces; compatible with standard collet chucks, hydraulic toolholders, and CNC spindles accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material codes K and P per ISO classification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists with the spindle fully stopped and machine in a safe, locked-out state. Confirm the toolholder bore matches the straight-cylindrical shank before clamping. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that the machine coolant supply pressure and flow rate are within the toolholder and spindle specifications before running at full feed. Inspect the cutting edges and FIREX coating for chipping or wear before each use; do not run a visibly damaged carbide tool at production feeds.
