The GUHRING 9055110083300 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit with a 21/64-inch (0.3281-inch decimal) diameter and a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip. It is finished with FIREX coating for extended wear resistance in high-demand drilling applications. The bit features a straight-cylindrical shank, regular spiral fluting, and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation. With an overall length of 4.055 inches and a flute length of 2.402 inches, it is sized for standard jobber-length reach. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed, high-feed drilling cycles in production environments. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators are the primary users.
This bit is engineered for drilling cast iron and steel, corresponding to ISO material codes K and P. The self-centering SU point eliminates the need for a center punch or pilot hole on most setups. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of 1.910 inches (48.51 mm). It is well suited for vertical machining centers, drill presses, and CNC lathes running production runs where consistent hole quality and tool life are required. The FIREX coating and submicron carbide substrate are particularly effective when working with abrasive cast iron grades or alloy steels.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces (ISO material codes K and P). Manufactured to DIN 6537 L specification, Series 5511, with a straight-cylindrical shank conforming to DIN 6535. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.3937-inch shank diameter.
Install in a compatible chuck or collet system rated for the shank diameter before powering the spindle. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the workpiece material and bit diameter before beginning a cut; consult the GUHRING cutting data tables for Series 5511 carbide bits. If using coolant-through capability, confirm internal coolant supply pressure and flow are within the machine tool specifications before engaging. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear between operations, as solid carbide is brittle and should not be used to break through interrupted cuts without confirming suitability.
