The GUHRING 9055110080000 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry that is self-centering, reducing the need for a center punch on most surfaces. The FIREX coating improves wear resistance and heat management during extended drilling cycles. At 3.5827 inches overall length with a 2.0866-inch flute length, this bit delivers a 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for production environments where chip evacuation and tool life are critical. A tapered web and web-thinned tip reduce thrust and improve cutting efficiency.
This drill bit is intended for use in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering primary material codes K and P. It fits standard jobber-length drilling applications in CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, and production-line setups where consistent tolerance and surface finish are required. The straight-cylindrical shank seats in standard collet chucks and drill chucks without modification. The Series 5511 designation places this bit in a family of long-series, submicron carbide tooling aimed at precision metal fabrication and general machining operations.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber length drill bit for use in cast iron and steel; compatible with any standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholder, collet chuck, or drill chuck sized for a 0.3150-inch shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling handling procedures. Carbide is brittle and should not be subjected to side loads or impact; ensure the workpiece is fully secured before engaging the spindle. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are matched to the machine spindle and toolholder specifications. Inspect the cutting edge for chipping before each use, as damaged carbide edges can cause workpiece damage or bit failure.
