The GUHRING 9055110063500 is a jobber-length twist drill bit built from submicron-grade solid carbide and finished with a FIREX coating. It cuts a 0.2500-inch (Letter E) diameter hole with a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip that self-centers on entry and reduces the need for a center punch. Overall length is 3.58 inches with a 2.09-inch flute length, keeping the tool compact and rigid for production drilling. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.315 inches in diameter. Designed for right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute, this bit is well suited for high-output drilling in ferrous materials. Licensed machinists and maintenance technicians working in metal fabrication, job shops, and industrial maintenance are the primary installers.
This drill bit is engineered for drilling cast iron and steel, including both P-category and K-category materials under the ISO workpiece classification system. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned, tapered web configuration support efficient chip evacuation in deeper holes. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery for extended tool life and heat control in high-cycle or high-feed applications. It conforms to DIN 6537 L and DIN 6535 standards and belongs to GUHRING Series 5511, a line built for demanding production environments.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces classified under ISO material groups P and K. Fits standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 0.315-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Compliant with DIN 6535 and DIN 6537 L, making it a direct dimensional match for tooling setups built to those standards.
Install in a drill press, CNC machining center, or hand-held drill with a chuck rated for the 0.315-inch shank diameter. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation. When using the coolant-through feature, connect to a clean, filtered coolant supply at the machine spindle and verify coolant flow before the first cut. Follow machine manufacturer torque and speed recommendations for solid carbide tooling; carbide is brittle and can fracture if subjected to side loading or excessive runout.
