The GUHRING 9055110061000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials including cast iron and steel. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry without a center punch. The FIREX coating provides thermal and wear resistance, extending tool life in demanding production environments. The bit measures 6.1 mm in diameter (0.2402 inches) with an overall length of 91 mm (3.58 inches) and a flute length of 53 mm (2.09 inches). Coolant-through capability supports high-speed machining operations where chip evacuation and heat management are critical.
This drill bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.3150-inch diameter seats securely in standard ER collet chucks and drill chucks. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole applications in cast iron and steel workpieces. It is typically specified by machinists and tooling engineers for medium-to-high volume drilling programs where dimensional consistency and hole quality are required.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces per primary workpiece material codes K and P. Fits standard straight-shank collet chucks and drill chucks accepting a 0.3150-inch shank diameter. Conforms to DIN 6535 and DIN 6537L toolholder interface standards.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading from excessive runout. Activate coolant-through supply before engaging the cut when using internal coolant. Do not use this bit in hand-held drills or applications outside its rated material and depth specifications.
