The GUHRING 9055110044000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6537L standards, this 4.4 mm diameter bit features a FIREX coating for extended tool life and reduced friction in abrasive materials. The 140-degree split point (SU geometry) with web thinning allows self-centering entry without a center punch, reducing setup time in production environments. With a regular spiral flute and tapered web configuration, chip evacuation stays consistent through the full drilling depth of 29.40 mm. This bit is sized at 4.40 mm diameter with an overall length of 74.00 mm and is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC and manual drilling equipment.
This drill bit is suited for drilling cast iron and steel workpieces in both job shop and production floor environments. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through design make it well matched to high-speed CNC operations where internal coolant delivery is available. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks or collet systems without adapters. It follows the Series 5511 product family from GUHRING, built to submicron carbide grade for tighter tolerances and longer edge retention compared to standard carbide grades.
Designed for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.2362-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for machining cast iron and steel workpieces as indicated by primary workpiece material codes K and P per the input specifications.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation and verify runout before engaging the cut. When using coolant-through capability, confirm the machine spindle and toolholder support internal coolant flow before pressurizing. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be subjected to side loading or interrupted cuts beyond the tool design parameters.
