The GUHRING 9055110043700 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip with web thinning for self-centering entry and reduced thrust force. The bit is coated with FIREX, a multilayer PVD coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. At 11/64 inch (0.1719 inches) in diameter, it runs a 2-flute right-hand spiral configuration and is rated for a maximum drilling depth of 1.159 inches. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die professionals install and operate this bit in automated and manual drilling applications.
This bit is engineered for primary workpiece materials including cast iron and steel, categorized under material grade codes K and P. It is well suited for production drilling where hole accuracy and tool life are critical, such as automotive components, structural steel fabrication, and general metalworking. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. At a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio with a flute length of 1.4173 inches, it handles moderate-depth holes without chip packing. Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Solid carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in machines with excessive runout or in setups that allow lateral loading. When using the coolant-through feature, verify that the machine tool's coolant system pressure is compatible with the bit before operation.
