The GUHRING 9055110040000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production and maintenance environments. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry without a pilot hole. The FIREX coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive materials. At 2.9134 inches overall length with a 1.4173-inch flute length, this bit handles maximum drilling depths up to 1.1810 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.2362 inches in diameter, compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems. It is sold individually.
This drill bit is rated for cast iron and steel workpiece materials, making it well suited for precision hole-making in fabrication shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports chip evacuation in deeper holes. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery for higher feed rates and longer tool life in CNC and production drilling applications. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals are the primary installers and operators of this bit.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces per material codes K and P. Fits standard straight-bore chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.2362-inch shank diameter. Part of GUHRING Series 5511, conforming to DIN 6537L specification.
Install and remove drill bits only with the spindle fully stopped and machine power off or locked out per applicable safety procedures. Confirm chuck or collet bore matches the 0.2362-inch shank diameter before seating the tool. When using coolant-through capability, verify that coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine spindle's rated parameters. Inspect the cutting edge and coating for chipping or wear before each use; carbide tooling is brittle and should not be dropped or used in interrupted cuts beyond its rated capacity.
