The GUHRING 9055110035000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537 L standards, it features a 3.5 mm (0.1378 inch) diameter, a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip, and a FIREX coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. The submicron carbide grade provides the rigidity and edge retention required when drilling cast iron and steel. The two-flute, right-hand spiral geometry with a web-thinned, tapered web reduces thrust force and promotes accurate self-centering entry without a center punch.
This bit is intended for precision drilling in ferrous metals, specifically cast iron and steel workpiece materials (material codes K and P). With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 22.75 mm (0.896 inch), it is well suited for through-hole and moderate-depth blind-hole applications on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machines where tight tolerances and repeatable entry accuracy are required. The straight-cylindrical shank (0.2362 inch diameter) seats directly into standard drill chucks and collet systems without adapters.
Designed as a Series 5511 jobber-length drill bit suitable for drilling cast iron and steel (ISO material codes K and P). Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.2362 inch (6 mm) straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and properly torqued before seating the shank to avoid runout damage to the carbide body. If the machine supports through-spindle coolant, connect the coolant-through circuit before drilling to maximize chip evacuation and tool life. Never use carbide drill bits to hand-feed plunge cuts without controlled feed-rate equipment, as shock loading can cause brittle fracture of the carbide substrate.
