The GUHRING 9055100100000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built to DIN 6537 K standards, it features a 10.00 mm (0.3937 inch) diameter, a 140-degree split point (SU type), and a web-thinned parallel web configuration that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation. The two-flute spiral design runs in a right-hand cut direction, and the straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and toolholders. Coolant-through capability supports extended tool life in production environments where heat buildup is a concern.
This drill bit is designed for machining cast iron and steel, making it a practical choice for fabrication shops, maintenance machinists, and toolroom technicians. The screw machine length body keeps the tool stiff and minimizes deflection in short-reach setups such as drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 44.00 mm (approximately 1.732 inches) suit through-hole and blind-hole work in production and repair contexts alike.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard straight-shank toolholders, drill chucks, and hydraulic chucks accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter. Part of the GUHRING Series 5510 high-performance carbide drill line.
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with carbide cutting tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the toolholder before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Enable coolant-through flow before starting the cut when the machine supports it. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use and remove the tool from service if edge damage is visible.
