The GUHRING 9044025222250 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading in steel and similar materials. It cuts a 7/8-9 UNC right-hand internal thread using a 4-flute spiral point geometry that pushes chips forward ahead of the cutting zone, keeping the flutes clear during the threading pass. The tap is manufactured from HSS-E cobalt high-speed steel for added heat and wear resistance, and carries a steam oxide finish that reduces friction and helps retain cutting fluid at the tool-workpiece interface. A plug chamfer provides a gradual lead-in suited to through-hole applications. The thread limit is H5 and the class of fit is 2B, targeting standard commercial thread tolerances.
This tap is intended for through-hole threading operations in production and job-shop machining environments. It is suited for use in ferrous materials, particularly steel, where tool life and thread quality are priorities. The spiral point design makes it well suited to CNC tapping cycles and hand-tapping with a torque wrench or tapping head where chip management in blind setups is not a concern. It is sold individually and is appropriate for machine shops, maintenance operations, and industrial fabrication settings where 7/8-9 UNC fastener threads are required.
Designed for through-hole threading of 7/8-9 UNC right-hand internal threads in steel and compatible ferrous materials. Suitable for use with CNC machining centers, drill presses equipped with tapping attachments, and hand-tapping operations that call for a 2B class of fit.
This tap should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool handling and threading procedures. Power down and de-energize any machine spindle before inserting or removing the tap from the holder. Use appropriate cutting fluid or tapping compound rated for steel to maximize tool life and thread quality. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines for spindle speed and feed rate when running tapping cycles; do not force the tap or reverse without proper synchronization in rigid tapping setups.
