The GUHRING 9043110100000 is a spiral flute tap designed for blind hole threading in metric applications. It cuts an M10x1.50 thread profile to a 6H class of fit using a modified bottoming chamfer, making it well-suited for threading holes that require thread engagement close to the bottom. The tap is manufactured from high speed steel and finished with a TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating to extend tool life and reduce friction during cutting. With a 40-degree helix angle and three right-hand flutes, it efficiently evacuates chips up and out of the hole. Overall length is 100 millimeters with a tapping depth of 39 millimeters. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary users of this tap.
This tap is rated for use in a broad range of workpiece materials including aluminum and other non-ferrous metals, gray cast iron, malleable and spheroidal iron, stainless steel, and steel. The spiral flute geometry is particularly effective in these materials when threading blind holes where straight-flute taps would struggle with chip packing. It is sized at a 10 millimeter shank diameter with a square drive size of 8 millimeters, making it compatible with standard tap holders and CNC tapping chucks. Coolant-through capability is not available on this tool, so external coolant delivery or manual lubrication is required. This is a Series 4311 tool from GUHRING.
Designed for use in standard tap holders, tapping heads, and CNC machining center tool holders accepting a 10 millimeter shank diameter with an 8 millimeter square drive. Suitable for M10x1.50 metric blind hole threading applications where the Series 4311 spiral flute geometry is specified.
This tap should be installed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Always ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tap holder is properly secured before tool changes. Use appropriate cutting fluid or tapping lubricant matched to the workpiece material, as this tool does not support coolant-through delivery. Verify correct tap holder alignment and chuck runout before beginning the tapping cycle to avoid tap breakage, particularly at the modified bottoming chamfer depth.
