The GUHRING 9042630158700 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 4263 standards, it features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, five flutes, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish. The 0.006 inch chamfer width at the corner protects the cutting edge and adds a controlled chamfer to workpiece edges in a single pass. A FIREX PVD coating — a TiAlN/TiN multilayer system — extends tool life when cutting abrasive and heat-generating materials. Machinists and CNC operators in job shops and production environments install this tool for both roughing and finishing operations.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing operations. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. It also performs in non-ferrous metals and hard materials. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and reduces pullout risk in high-feed applications. The single-end, right-hand cut configuration with a close pitch and helical flute style makes it a practical choice for tight-tolerance machining centers running at elevated speeds and feeds.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 5/8 inch Weldon flat shank. Suitable for steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, non-ferrous metals, and hard materials per primary workpiece material codes P, M, K, S, N, and H.
Installation is performed by machinists or CNC tooling technicians using an appropriate Weldon flat set-screw holder sized for a 5/8 inch shank. Confirm the set screw engages the Weldon flat before tightening to manufacturer torque specifications for the holder. Verify spindle runout is within acceptable limits before cutting, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow machine tool builder guidelines and applicable shop safety procedures when changing tooling with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a safe state.
