The GUHRING 9042560190500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding metalworking and machining applications. Built to Series 4256 specifications, this single-end tool features a FIREX coating for extended tool life at elevated cutting temperatures. The variable helix design, ranging from 30 to 32 degrees, reduces chatter and improves surface finish across a range of materials. With a 0.75 inch cutting diameter, a 2.25 inch length of cut, and a 0.75 inch Weldon flat shank, it fits standard milling chucks and holders. Licensed machinists, tooling specialists, and CNC operators working in production and job-shop environments rely on this geometry for consistent performance in long-reach slotting and profiling operations.
This end mill is suited for milling steel, alloy steels, and similar ferrous materials where a high-performance carbide tool with a protective coating is required. The long-length configuration with a 5 inch overall length and 2.25 inch length of cut makes it appropriate for deeper pocketing and slotting passes where a standard-length end mill cannot reach. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry directly into the workpiece. The right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute direction are standard for conventional CNC machining center setups.
Designed as a Series 4256 solid carbide square end mill with a 0.75 inch Weldon flat shank, compatible with standard 3/4 inch side-lock end mill holders and collet chucks dimensioned for h6 shank tolerances.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool-change procedure follows the machine builder guidelines before mounting or removing the end mill. Seat the Weldon flat against the set screw in the holder to prevent axial pullout under load. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, and verify that feeds and speeds match the workpiece material and coating recommendations for FIREX-coated carbide tooling.
