The GUHRING 9042540190500 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding ferrous and stainless steel applications. Part of the GUHRING Series 4254, it features a 0.75 inch cutting diameter, a 1.5 inch length of cut, and a 4 inch overall length. The three-flute configuration with a variable helix of 41, 43, and 45 degrees reduces harmonic vibration and chatter during aggressive cuts. A FIREX coating provides heat resistance and extended tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. The Weldon flat shank ensures positive drive and minimal pullout under load. This end mill is center-cutting and handles slotting, profiling, and ramping operations.
This end mill is suited for milling stainless steel and steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary capability in cast iron and non-ferrous materials. It is a single-end tool with right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flute geometry. The regular length and 0.75 inch shank diameter make it compatible with standard Weldon flat end mill holders found in VMC and HMC setups in job shops, tool rooms, and production machining environments. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant from the outside is the standard approach.
Primary workpiece materials are stainless steel and steel (ISO material codes M, P, S); secondary workpiece materials include cast iron and non-ferrous materials (ISO codes K, N). Designed for use in standard 0.75 inch Weldon flat end mill holders on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in an e-stop or locked-out state before loading or unloading the tool. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully in a clean, undamaged holder and torque the set screw to the holder manufacturer specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before production cuts, as excessive runout will accelerate wear on a carbide tool.
