The GUHRING 9041150158700 is a 5/8 inch carbide replaceable tip drill from the Series 4115 line, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. The replaceable tip design uses a solid carbide insert with a relieved cone geometry and a 140-degree included angle, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without removing the drill body from the spindle. The nano-A PVD coating reduces friction and extends tool life in abrasive and heat-generating cuts. At 0.02 pounds, the insert itself is lightweight and sold individually. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and toolroom technicians working on CNC machining centers or manual drill presses.
This replaceable tip drill is suited for primary use in stainless steel (ISO material group M) and secondarily in superalloys and titanium (ISO groups H, P, and S). The Series 4115 platform is built for production environments where insert changeover speed and consistent hole quality are critical. The 140-degree point angle makes it appropriate for harder, work-hardening materials where a more aggressive tip geometry is needed to reduce cutting forces and heat buildup at entry. Coolant-through capability is not included in this configuration, so external coolant or flood coolant delivery should be planned accordingly.
Designed for use in GUHRING Series 4115 drill bodies with a size 155 insert seat. Confirm insert seat size on the drill body before ordering. No additional model-specific compatibility data was provided in the product input.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with replaceable tip drill systems. Ensure the drill body spindle is powered down and fully stopped before seating or removing the carbide tip insert. The insert seat should be clean and free of chips or debris before engagement to prevent seating errors and insert damage. Follow the tool manufacturer torque and seating procedure documented in the Series 4115 tooling guide — do not use improvised tools to seat the insert.
