The GUHRING 9041150154800 is a carbide replaceable tip drill from the Series 4115 line, designed for high-performance hole-making in demanding metalworking applications. The replaceable tip system uses a solid carbide insert with a relieved cone geometry seated in a size 150 insert seat, delivering consistent cutting performance and repeatable accuracy. The drill features a 140-degree included point angle and a nano-A PVD coating applied through a physical vapor deposition process. This combination of geometry and finish is engineered to support aggressive feed rates and extended tool life in production environments. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians working in metal fabrication and precision machining are the primary installers and users of this tool.
This drill is built for use in stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, carrying a manufacturer grade rating of K/P. Secondary workpiece material compatibility extends to superalloys and titanium, making this tool well-suited for aerospace, medical device, and industrial manufacturing operations. The Series 4115 replaceable tip platform is intended for use in CNC machining centers and other rigid drilling setups where tip changeability reduces downtime and total tooling cost. The functional cutting length of the insert is 9.80 millimeters. Coolant-through capability is not included in this configuration.
Designed for use with GUHRING Series 4115 replaceable tip drill bodies accepting a size 150 insert seat. Confirm shank body insert seat size before ordering to ensure proper fit.
Installation and tip changes should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians following the machine tool builder's recommended procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the tool is secured in a proper holder before seating or removing the carbide tip. Use the manufacturer-specified torque tool for insert clamping where applicable, and inspect the insert seat for debris or damage before each tip installation. Follow applicable shop safety protocols and machine guarding requirements during setup and operation.
