The GUHRING 9041090170050 is a replaceable-tip drill body designed for precision hole-making operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built on the Series 4109 platform, this drill accepts HT 800 WP replaceable inserts, allowing the cutting tip to be swapped without replacing the entire tool body. The shank measures 3/4 inches in diameter and the overall length is 202 millimeters (7.95 inches). Maximum drill depth reaches 125.8 millimeters (4.95 inches), placing it in the 7xD depth range. Through-coolant capability is integrated into the body, supporting chip evacuation and thermal control at the cutting zone. The tool body is constructed from steel.
This drill body is suited for production drilling applications on CNC machining centers and drill presses where repeatable hole geometry is required. The replaceable-tip design reduces per-hole tooling cost in high-volume operations. The 3/4-inch straight shank fits standard toolholders used in milling and turning setups. Through-coolant delivery makes it appropriate for deep-hole work in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous materials where heat buildup and chip packing are primary concerns. Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is properly seated and torqued in the toolholder before operation. When mounting the replaceable tip, follow the insert manufacturer torque procedure for HT 800 WP inserts and verify the tip is fully locked before initiating a cut. Confirm coolant supply pressure and flow are adequate for through-coolant operation prior to running the first hole.
