The GUHRING 9039460254000 is a spiral point tap designed for through-hole threading in a wide range of materials. Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a TiCN (titanium carbonitride) coating, it delivers improved wear resistance and heat tolerance compared to standard HSS taps. The plug chamfer eases entry alignment, while the 4-flute spiral point geometry pushes chips forward ahead of the cutting zone, keeping threads clean during production runs. Overall length is 5.125 inches with a shank diameter of 0.8 inches. The 1-8 UNC thread form and 2B class of fit make this tap suitable for general-purpose fastener applications across fabrication and maintenance work. Do not reverse the tap under load without first relieving chip pressure to avoid breakage.
