The GUHRING 9039210240000 is a spiral flute tap designed for metric blind hole threading applications. It cuts an M24 x 3.00 right-hand thread to a 6H class of fit and is manufactured from cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating for extended tool life in demanding materials. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading closer to the bottom of blind holes than a standard taper or plug tap. With a 40-degree helix angle and fast flute style, this tap efficiently evacuates chips upward out of the hole during the cutting cycle. Installation is performed by licensed machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers, CNC lathes, or manual tapping machines.
This tap is intended for use in alloyed and unalloyed steel. The modified bottoming chamfer makes it the right choice when thread depth must be maximized in blind hole conditions. The 4-flute design provides rigidity and consistent thread form in ferrous workpiece materials. At 4.909 inches overall length with a 0.760-inch shank diameter, it is sized for standard toolholders used in industrial machining operations. Coolant-through capability is not provided on this tool.
Designed for blind hole threading in alloyed and unalloyed steel workpieces. Compatible with standard toolholding systems accepting a 0.760-inch shank diameter. Thread limit D6 and D7 per Series 3921 specifications.
This tap should be installed and operated by qualified machinists familiar with tapping speeds, feed rates, and toolholder runout requirements for cobalt taps. Always confirm the pre-drill hole diameter matches the M24 x 3.00 tap drill specification before threading. Use appropriate tapping fluid or cutting oil for steel materials to protect the cutting edges and improve thread quality. Inspect the tap for wear or chipping before each use and remove it from service if the cutting edges show damage.
