The GUHRING 9038990015800 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to Series 3899 specifications, it features a 1.58 mm diameter with an h7 tolerance, a 140-degree faceted point angle, and a TiAlN coating that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. The spiral flute geometry with web thinning promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces thrust force at entry. With an overall length of 38 mm and a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank, this drill is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and precision hand-held spindles operated by machinists and toolroom technicians.
This drill bit is intended for use on cast iron and steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes K and P. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 7.63 mm make it well matched for shallow to moderate-depth micro hole applications in production and job shop environments. The right-hand cut direction is standard for conventional spindle rotation. Machinists working on tight-tolerance components, mold work, or precision assemblies will find the h7 shank diameter tolerance suitable for collet-based toolholding systems.
Designed for use with cast iron and steel workpieces. The 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard collet chucks and drill chucks accepting that shank diameter. Suited for CNC machining centers and precision drilling equipment using right-hand spindle rotation.
This tool should be installed by a qualified machinist familiar with micro-diameter tooling and collet-based toolholding. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of debris before seating the shank. At micro diameters, runout control is critical — verify toolholder runout is within acceptable limits before operation. Follow the machine manufacturer and applicable shop safety guidelines when setting speeds and feeds for solid carbide tooling in ferrous materials.
