The GUHRING 9038990010000 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in tight-tolerance applications. Built to Series 3899 specifications, it features a 1 mm diameter with an h7 tolerance, a 140-degree faceted point, and a TiAlN coating for extended tool life in abrasive materials. The overall length is 38 mm with a 10 mm flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 8.5 mm. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3 mm in diameter, allowing it to seat securely in standard collet chucks. This bit is suited for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in production or maintenance environments.
This micro drill bit is engineered for right-hand cutting in cast iron and steel workpieces. The spiral flute with regular spiral type promotes chip evacuation in shallow-to-moderate depth holes, and the web-thinned point reduces entry force on hard materials. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a K40 carbide grade, it is well matched to CNC machining centers and precision drilling fixtures where small-diameter hole accuracy is critical. Typical applications include component drilling in ferrous metals at the sub-millimeter scale.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production-use micro drill bit for machining applications in cast iron and steel. Compatible workpiece material codes K and P per ISO designation. No coolant-through feature; intended for external coolant or dry cutting setups.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with small-diameter carbide tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank in a precision collet or drill chuck rated for the shank diameter before operation. Carbide micro drills are brittle and susceptible to breakage from side loading or excessive feed rates; follow machine manufacturer feed and speed guidelines for 1 mm carbide tooling. Inspect the cutting edge and coating condition before each use, as micro drill bits do not tolerate regrinding without specialized equipment.
